Over the years we have been fortunate to become friends with some
great folks who have made major contributions to the breed. Among them are Joe and Chad Inderman at Llano Estacado
Shorthairs and Hayley Killam at HK Kennels, both in Texas. At the 2017 GSPCA Championships in Eureka we learned from
Eldon and Terry Hongo, who were the head trainers for HK Kennels, that a noteworthy, young female out of HK’s NFC
Angelina had just whelped a litter out of Llano’s NFC, Llano’s Game on Dude. Blaze, the dam, was a singleton out of a
frozen semen breeding of NFC Angelina to Hall of Fame, 5X NFC Heidi’s Mighty City Slicker. Our conversation led us to
immediately commit to a male pup. We named him Teton’s One Slick Dude and call him Slick. As you can see from his
pedigree it is hard to imagine a litter with more “royalty”. From his first days with us, Slick has been a tremendous
prospect showing every characteristic we had anticipated from his ancestry. Tons of game drive, stylish point,
graceful movement and a delightful temperament and personality. He showed a glimpse of his “stuff” at the end of
summer (2018) at 3 field trials in the White Mountains in Arizona where he won two AKC Open Puppy stakes and an Open
Derby Stake. His development is being carefully planned and executed and we are as excited about his potential as we
have been with any dog we have worked with in our 45 years in the German Shorthaired Pointer breed.
